Led by partners Lucas Giannetti and Kim Stager, Hinterland Tahoe designs and builds high performance environments that are simultaneously comprehensive in their approach and exacting in their detail. We are a partnership rooted in strong values & passion for efficient spaces.
Lucas Giannetti
Founder, Business and Operations
Lucas is the Founder of Hinterland Tahoe and is responsible for business operations and management. Driven by his lifelong passion for building and appreciation of the outdoors, he strives to align his personal values with professional growth which has led him to sustainable building and the Lake Tahoe region. He is a licensed General Contractor in California and holds an AAS in Construction Management and Technology.
Lucas grew up spending summers in Germany with his grandmother where he developed an affinity for European architecture, design, and urban planning. He was particularly drawn to the durability, efficiency, and simplicity of European buildings, and has since strived to incorporate those principles into the uniquely challenging environment of the mountain West.
Kim Stager
Design Director
Kim is a designer working in Lake Tahoe and New York City. She works in the high-end interiors and materials industry on the east coast and is expanding her vision out west. She has a discerning eye and an empathic approach to design, informed by a technical background in graphic design and art direction.
Educated at RIT, the Vignelli Center for Design Studies is a hub of research and creative inspiration honoring the legacy of multidisciplinary designers LeIla and Massimo Vignelli. Kim's approach to interior design is deeply inspired by Vignelli’s timeless sensibility—where clarity and simplicity guide every decision. It's about creating spaces that are intentional, harmonious, and enduring. She creates environments that honor the beautiful environment they are built in and elevate everyday living.
